Tracy High freshman Madesyn Ronquillo finished among the top 16 swimmers in the state in the girls 100-yard backstroke on Saturday.

Ronquillo, who holds four Tracy High School varsity records at the end of her freshman year, finished in 15th place in the final day of competition at the California Interscholastic Federation championships, which were Friday and Saturday at Clovis West High School in Clovis.

She logged her time of 56.85 seconds in the B heat of Saturday’s finals, placing seventh in her heat and 15th overall. Her time was short of her own school record of 56.47 seconds, which she set at the Sac-Joaquin Section championship meet on May 16 at Tokay High in Lodi.

Ronquillo also holds school records for the 200 freestyle (1:58.96), 200 individual medley (2:10.04) and 100 butterfly (57.02).
