The other coaches and I would like to say great job to all our new swimmers on the first two weeks of summer practices! We are already seeing huge steps forward in all our new and returning athletes and we are excited to see how they do at the upcoming meets.

The Morgan Hill meet for April 8-10th is now open and can be entered here through swim connection. Sign up today! The meet sheet is available on this page as well. While the meet will stay open for entries until March 30th it will fill up and be closed much earlier so enter as soon as possible. If you are still waiting for your swimmers USA card to come in you can enter their swim registration number as pending. Just make sure to have their card the day of the meet. After entering your swimmer please print out the copy of their events given to you by swim connection and bring it to Coach Pat. The events are listed at the end of this email, some events listed as 9-10 are actually 10 and under and will allow younger swimmers to compete if there isn't an 8 and under equivalent.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask a coach. The Morgan Hill meet is LCM or Long Course Meters, meaning each lap of the pool is 50 meters long. The 10 and under championships for April 30th, and Lodi meet April 17th will be SCY meets, meaning Short Course Yards and each lap is 25 yards.

As a reminder:
Green and Yellow Practice Groups start at 5:15PM, and only Candy's Orange Group starts at 5:30, please try to be 5 minutes early to your practice session so we can start on time as a group. We introduce the drill and stroke work that we will be doing that day early in the practice and swimmers who are late miss out.

Next week we will be spending the last 10-15 minutes in Yellow and Green groups doing time recorded stroke sprints. I'll be posting the swimmers times online with comments if the stroke was not quite legal. Each day of the week in practice we will focus on a different stroke, with Fridays usually reserved for diving and IM work. Next weeks stroke order is Monday: Butterfly, Tuesday: Freestyle, Wednesday: Backstroke, Thursday: Breaststroke, and Friday: Dives and IM. Please try to get your swimmer to as many practices as possible.

Also all swimmers are expected to have their own pair of fins for practice as they are an invaluable tool for training and stroke work used in all groups. Fins are only $10-15 through Finis with the TUSD 50% promo code discount

Make sure to have registered your swimmer through Pacific Swimming ASAP!

No Saturday Morning practice this weekend or next as the Coaches will be with West High at a meet tomorrow and with our Ellis Junior Olympians March 18-20th.

Thank you and have a great day!
